I come to the teaching profession through the non-traditional path of lateral entry. I have a degree in Biology and Psychology, and have been working in education for most of my life through ecology and biology-based educational programs in various settings using live animals. This combination of education and work experience opened the door to teaching as a profession, and I haven’t looked back since!
Speaking as someone who raised a child with executive functioning disorder, I have a parent’s perspective, and as someone who has worked in educational settings with students of all ages and academic abilities, and with a teaching certification under my belt, I feel lucky to have the opportunity to bring my practical experience and skills to the classroom to help our students learn and enjoy high school!
