Teaching has been a joy in my life for the past 14 years. I started out teaching first and second grade for Duval County Schools in Jacksonville, Florida. Three years later, I earned my gifted certification and taught K-5 gifted students as a teacher of the gifted. When I moved with my family to WNC in 2015, I was hired at Shining Rock Classical Academy as a third grade teacher. Math is my first love so I decided to pursue a 6-9 middle school math certification. I taught middle school math during my second and third year at Shining Rock and then taught 7th grade math at Montford Northstar Academy for the next year and a half. I returned to Shining Rock in January of 2020 and found myself in what I now know is my favorite grade to teach, 3rd grade!
As a mom of two, I know how challenging it can be to keep up with all things school. An open line of communication is key for us all to be successful!
