Hello! I am Mrs. Penland and I have been teaching EC at Shining Rock for 3 years. I teach EC for grades kindergarten through second grade. I am also the middle and high school soccer coach and have been since starting at SRCA in 2020. I received my Bachelor's degree from East Carolina University in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I received my Master's degree from Western Carolina University in Adapted Curriculum Special Education. Before moving away for college I lived in Waynesville, NC. After graduating from East Carolina University I was excited to move back home to the mountains. I now live in Clyde with my husband and two dogs.
