Hello friends! My name is Tom Gilfoy, and I've been connecting children to the natural world through the power of science education for almost twenty years. I graduated from Warren Wilson College with a Bachelor's of Science in Conservation Biology, and have a passion for the art of teaching.
As an almost two time finisher of the Appalachian trail, I know what it takes to set a goal and see it through. It is my joy to help each and every child climb the mountain that is Middle school. In my free time you can find me hiking with my amazing partner Jen, playing drums, or reading a good book. I am super proud to be part of the Shining Rock family.
